Nvidia technical analysis for 28 August 2026: NVDA closed near $217.55 after trading from about $216.81 to $229.19 and falling roughly 4.6% as higher Treasury yields pressured long-duration technology. The certified daily series embedded in the chart closes on 21 August; the 28 August observation is presented separately and is not inserted into that frozen series.

Primary price structure
The first support zone is $214–$216, where the latest session finished and where the prior chart identified a demand test. Holding this band preserves the short-term recovery. A daily close below it would expose the 50-day area near $207.50 and then the psychological $200 level.
Resistance begins at $224–$229. The intraday rejection from $229.19 shows that sellers remain active near the recent highs. A bullish continuation requires a daily close above $229 followed by acceptance, not merely another opening spike. That would restore $236 as the next reference area.
Rates and the valuation channel
Nvidia’s technical setup cannot be separated from the bond market. A jump in the two-year Treasury yield raises the discount rate applied to future earnings and can compress multiples even when the long-term AI thesis remains intact. The key confirmation is therefore cross-asset: NVDA must reclaim resistance while short rates stabilise or retreat.
Momentum and volume
The move from $229 toward $217 was sharp enough to reset short-term momentum, but not yet sufficient to break the broader structure. A constructive next sequence would be a higher low above $214, declining sell volume and a close back above $224. Expanding volume on a break below $214 would instead confirm that the market is repricing more than one session of rate risk.
Scenario map
- Bullish: hold $214–$216, reclaim $224 and close above $229; next area $236.
- Neutral: rotate between $214 and $229 while rates settle; reduce conviction inside the range.
- Bearish: close below $214, then fail to reclaim it; next supports near $207.50 and $200.
