Bitcoin technical analysis for 28 August 2026: price is consolidating near $77,380 after trading between roughly $77,078 and $81,280 during the session. The certified daily series embedded in the chart closes at the 23 August cutoff; the later price observation is stated separately and is not inserted into the certified bar history.

Structure and key levels
The chart shows a market that advanced sharply from the June base and then shifted into a broad high-$70,000 consolidation. The first decision area is $75,500–$76,500. Holding that band keeps the recovery structure intact; a daily close beneath it would expose the $73,000 breakout shelf and then the $69,000 regime pivot.
On the upside, $79,500–$81,300 is the immediate supply zone. A clean daily close above that area, followed by acceptance rather than a one-session spike, would reopen the path toward $84,000. Until then, the setup remains range-bound rather than a confirmed continuation breakout.
Momentum and confirmation
Momentum expanded rapidly into the August advance and is now normalising. That is constructive only if price holds above the former breakout shelf while short-term oscillators reset. Rising price with weakening breadth would argue for patience; renewed volume and a higher daily low above $76,500 would provide stronger confirmation.
Trading scenarios
- Bullish: daily acceptance above $81,300 targets $84,000, with invalidation back below $79,500.
- Neutral: rotation between $75,500 and $81,300 favours smaller size and faster risk management.
- Bearish: a daily close below $75,500 increases the probability of a retest of $73,000 and possibly $69,000.
